Spirits in the Temple

To my amazement and shock, I was able to take alot of interesting pictures at the Temple.

I for one is a sceptic of spirits or whatever you call them showing up in pictures.

I took alot of pictures with these blurry round orbs that surprised me since I've never seen them in any of my old pictures before.

I definitely didn't see these things before I took the pictures but somehow after every click, at the preview of the camera, I see this weird white orbs floating around.

I'll post some pictures here, and you be the judge.

None of the pictures here are altered and I didn't see any of these orbs there during picture taking.

And, of course, my camera is not wet, damaged or anything like that. All the other pictures taken here are from the same camera.

Wat Pa Thumma Uthayan

Wat Pa Thumma Uthayan is the name of the temple we went to in Khon Kaen.
According to my colleague the name means = forest ( Wat ), monk ( Pa ), National Park ( Thumma Uthayan )... so I guess it means the National park of forest monks.

It's my first time to stay over night at a temple, so am really excited.

They gave us small tents and a blanket to keep us warm, some people were lucky to get thin mats, I was one of the unfortunate ones.

We also have a tiny thai pillow, it resembles a wood block about 6 x 6 x 8 inches in dimension. I think it was filled with stones! haha, it was really really hard, you can knock out a person with it if you whack them in the head.

Here's how the sleeping quarters in the temple looks like:

( My little "house" )

( The "refugee camp" )

( Kelvin was unfortunate to get one of those tents that keeps falling apart )

Company Outing Day 1

November 23, 2007

8AM - Its freakin early and we boarded the bus heading to Khon Kaen. Crisp friday morning and everyone in our office is excited to have our company field trip. Heading where? heading to a temple in Khon Kaen. No one has explained to me what to expect in the temple, all they said is that its nice and cold out there.

( This is a picture of me and Kelvin in the bus, excited and chit chatting the whole time of course, although I look fucked up in the morning, am no morning person )

I was told that the estimate travel time to get to the temple is around 5 hours.

1, 2, 3 hours passed and we are still on the road.

Pit stop - Lunch Time : beautiful restaurant in the Korat province. The restaurant is perched on a beautiful cliff that has a wonderful view of the largest freshwater reservoir in Thailand, Lum Ta Kheng is the name of this lake.

I saw this cute wooden horse in the restaurant and had my picture taken riding the horse! hahaha
Here's the pic:

Oh, and by the way, I forgot to take pictures of the yummy lunch we had, because everyone was hungry that we just stuffed ourselves silly with the tasty E-sarn food! I love this particular Thai cuisine, E-sarn for me is the best Thai food there is, everything is a bit sour and spicy, lots of meat, just the way I like it!

I'll be posting more later on... time to go back to work...

Funny Farangs

Yesterday on my way back home, I saw an old farang (caucasian) holding a sign that says "Please help me to go back home, I just need to buy a plane ticket to fly back".

Interesting really, I have no idea why he doesn't go to his embassy and ask help there. What is he doing begging for his plane ticket out in the street?

I don't think anyone will really help him, aside from the fact that its mostly locals who walk in that area where he was at (which means these people don't really earn much) he looks like a dirty old scum who spent all his money buying pussies in Bangkok. ( sorry for the dirty language )

Why would he want to compete with the local beggars?

This is definitely something I haven't seen before...
Amazing Thailand!

This song is for you

If you're not the one then why does my soul feel glad today?
If you're not the one then why does my hand fit yours this way?
If you are not mine then why does your heart return my call
If you are not mine would I have the strength to stand at all

I never know what the future brings
But I know you are here with me now
We'll make it through

And I hope you are the one I share my life with

I don't want to run away but I can't take it, I don't understand
If I'm not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am?
Is there any way that I can stay in your arms?

If I don't need you then why am I crying on my bed?

If I don't need you then why does your name resound in my head?
If you're not for me then why does this distance maim my life?
If you're not for me then why do I dream of you as my wife?

I don't know why you're so far away
But I know that this much is true
We'll make it through
And I hope you are the one I share my life with
And I wish that you could be the one I die with
And I pray in you're the one I build my home with
I hope I love you all my life

I don't want to run away but I can't take it, I don't understand
If I'm not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am
Is there any way that I can stay in your arms?

'Cause I miss you, body and soul so strong that it takes my breath away
And I breathe you into my heart and pray for the strength to stand today
'Cause I love you, whether it's wrong or right
And though I can't be with you tonight
And know my heart is by your side

I don't want to run away but I can't take it, I don't understand

New Place

I decided recently to move to a new apartment.

This new apartment that i'll be moving to is a bit more expensive than the current one am staying at, but the place looks a bit seedy and scary.

Then, wonder why am moving? It's because the place is 3 minutes walk to my office, free laundry service and has a bath tub! LOL

I know I can make the place look alot better from the inside.

I'll keep you guys updated.

I'll post pics as soon as I move there: tentative date: December 2, 2007.

I need to get you out my system

I need to get you out of my system.
I need to move on.
For my sake.
For your sake.

I need to purge you out of my life.
I need to move on.
I need to not need you anymore to make me happy.
I can't take you out of my head.
But I'll try.
I have to.
It doesn't mean I want to, but I have to.
For my sake and for your sake.

I need peace, I need assurance, I need security.
I'm tired of being your security blanket.
I have a life of my own, separate from you.
I have to.

They always said distance doesn't matter.
I guess I believe now that it does.

Loving someone is the best thing in the world.
Makes dark skies turn blue.
Makes everything warm and fuzzy.

But love has a darker side.
There's a limit as to what love can do.

If the world is turning against you.
What can a guy like me do?
I've got nothing.

I've had everything.
Nothing in this world means anything without you.
But since I can't have you.
You chose your path.
I choose mine.

Time can heal things.
As long as I let go.
As long as I try.

I will.
I will.

Mr. Chips!

My typical Sunday routine is to walk to J. Avenue and grab brunch at Au Bon Pain.
This is how I normally nurse my hangover from Saturday nights fun drinking spree.

Most of the time, I spend my time there alone, but last Sunday, it was nice to have company. I was with my friend Lisa.

We had a great time just chatting and updating each other. AND best of all! SHE has a pack of MR. CHIPS! hahaha.

nothin beats good ole mr. chips!

( Nothing quite like Mr. Chips, not even the Pringles and Lays can taste better than this one! )

Sunday Brunch in Hong Kong

( Hong Kong Sports Club )

( Strawberries and Champagne with Vicky )

Side story - my trip to Hong Kong for work has been pretty hectic. So on the last day, I tried to cram as much activities as I can, overall I had 5 hours of free time.
Spent two hours with Vicky hanging out at the Sports Club, then the remaining time was spent looking for the holy grail of all fast food outlets ( JOLIBEE! ) hahaha.

I know its stupid, but I did look for the place, and the verdict -> Almost missed my flight and yet, I didn't find the fastfood joint!

Next trip, I'll make sure I find the place.
I'll be ready and do my research first.

Alcohol-free Life

Starting today, I will be staying away from alcohol.

I will be keeping tab of my progress by posting my pics here every week and keep a personal log of my alcohol-free days...

Hope I can last long....

I know I can do it. For sure it won't be easy, but I have to start this and make sure I hold on as long as I can.

Alcohol has given me lots of problems. From spending so much money getting pissed. To blurting out stuff that I wasn't suppose to say, hurting people and friends in the process. And, gaining weight and unwanted fat due to all that calories I ingested.

I drank like a fish and smoked like a chimney... Its about time that I give my body a break and surely I'll be the one reaping the benefits. Not only will I look good, Ill feel even better.

SO its about time...

Here's the last pic of me as an alcoholic.....

Over exposure

You'll know you are over exposed to the scene if your party pictures end up on a nightlife guide online.

LOL

A friend forwarded this link to me.

Not one pic, but two!!!

Much needed update

After my trip to Hong Kong, work here in the office has been pretty hectic, haven't had time to update my blog at all.

Well, here goes, i'll be posting some pics taken during the HK jewelry and watch trade fair.

This picture was taken in front of our booth in HK. I am with my colleagues, from left to right ( Khun Sunny, Simone, ME, Karn and Kelvin )

I've got loads more of pictures to upload, but i guess it has to wait for a bit.

WIFI free access

It dawned into me how much a cheapskate I can be.

LOL. I always tend to piggyback someone else's wireless connection. I know, I know, it doesn't cost much to pay for one, but free connection is pretty hard to resist. LOL.

Lots of places in Bangkok offers free wireless service. Most coffee shops have free wifi access. Normally I don't even bother coming to a coffee shop unless they got some free wireless access for my laptop.

Here at Silom ( where am typing this blog right now ), I always come to Coffee Society to unwind and grab my coffee, after a hard days work, its always just nice to sit down and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee, smoke a few ciggy and chat to my hearts content.

Hong Kong here I come!

My new job will send me to Hong Kong to attend the Hong Kong Jewelry and Watch Fair.

Yahoo! September 22 till 30th, I'll be there, staying at Marco Polo.

See you guys at the clubs! hahaha.

Only on Saturday night I think!

Gym Outfit

Three essential items that I'll never forget to bring to my gym before a workout:

1) mp3 player - to keep me from getting bored of my workout routines, and to keep me up and energized.

2) grooming bag - can't live without my moisturizer and perfume.

3) comfy sneakers - i can't workout without proper shoes.

Here's a picture of me before heading off to the gym, I usually go to the one nearest my place, California Gym Asok branch, during the off peak hours round 8pm till midnight.

My tiny apartment

I was pretty lucky to get this small apartment right smack in the middle of the most trendy street in Bangkok.

I literally live right across from all the happening places in this soi (street). Coffee shops, town centres, supermarkets, boutique shops and great restaurants are all a hop and a skip away from where I stay.

The rent is pretty cheap too, for the location, this is a great find. My room is pretty small though, basic, yeah, but am happy with what I did to make it more comfy. I got this room unfurnished and I still remember the time that Eileen was here and there was barely anything inside my room. How I was so pissed off that the furniture shop didn't deliver in time, we both ended up sleeping in comforters ( no bed, no couch ) nothing in the room.

Well, let me give you a peek on how things have changed since then.

This is a picture of what my balcony looks like, I filled it with plants just to liven up the small space. I never use the balcony anyway, its way too hot outside.

And here is a pic of my shoe rack, yeah, I love shoes.

My lovely bed and the full length mirror ( right next to my door ), have to check how I look before I leave my place.

My TV and other stuff ( too lazy to enumerate ).

Oh, and here is what I wore this morning to work, just v-neck tee with rooster print (looks like the Kellogs cornflakes rooster) and red wide belt paired with dark denim (7s) and oh yeah, behind me is the dresser.

Fashion update

Last Sunday, I went shopping with Tito, and was so happy with all my cool finds. Got them off the weekend market ( Chatuchak ). For those not familiar with the place, this is where one can get tons of amazing stuff, from animals, plants, antiques, clothes, furnitures.. Hmm, i guess there is nothing that Chatuchak doesn't sell.

But before that, I went to Au Bon Pain again for my Sunday brunch, after a crazy night out.

This is my fave meal at Au Bon Pain, grilled chicken and cheese sandwich, caesar salad and lemon iced tea.

This is what i was wearing that afternoon. He he he. Just sloppy outfit, nothin special.

Lookie lookie at what i wore that night to celebrate Tito's birthday at Bed Supperclub.

Dark distressed denim by G Star Raw, extra long studded belt and black v-neck cardigan ( both Chatuchak finds )

Prior to that, this was what I wore a week ago heading to the same club, but on a Saturday night.

Denim jeans by Seven, tank top "alibaba" from Zara, Dsquared white leather belt

Work Work Work

This whole week, work has been such a pain in the ass.

One of our biggest clients ( Pearl Farm in AUS )has been giving us lots of headache (production-wise).

Rush orders, mixed up orders, returns and repairs...

Oh my, my head is going to explode.

Saturday, September 1, 2007

It's always nice to bump into a friend that one hasn't seen for a long long time

The bell rang and its time to go home. After hours of non-stop calls from clients at work. Finally, Its time for me to go home and rest. I've been looking forward to this since I wasn't feeling good that morning. Was having another attack of that dreaded migraine.

Final chore to be done before I can head home is to send an order to a client in his hotel, which is roughly 5 minutes walk from the office.

Of course, the ever "i know it all" me, I decided its so easy to find the hotel without asking for directions. I mean, I've been living in Bangkok for almost three years now, if I can find hidden shops tucked in the city, how hard can it be to find a huge hotel nearby where I work?

Man, was I wrong, I spent the next 30 minutes trying to locate the hotel, and finally, once i got tired and sweaty, decided to call the client to find out how to get to his hotel. After getting the direction, took me 3 minutes to find the freakin hotel.

Swear to god, I didn't see it first although I was walking around in circles in the same area.

Moving on, I was just happy to just get rid of the parcel and head home.

Traffic as usual was horrendous, and since I just can't wait to get home, I decided I'll take the subway.

I was walking quite fast when suddenly I heard my name being called. My name is quite unique out here in Bangkok. So i quickly glanced back, and I was greeted by a familiar face, so familiar that I quickly ran back and hugged my friend Tito.

Tito was one of those good ole friend that you don't really know why you never informed them that you already moved. He was just as surprised as I was when i saw him out in the streets of Silom.

We had a quick chit chat and decided we should go sit down and grab some coffee and update each other.

I found out that he is on vacation alone since its his birthday this coming Sunday, and he wanted to celebrate it on his own, away from the usual endless bouts of drunken parties to celebrate his birthday. This time he wanted something new.

After an hour or so, I was really tired, but its always great to see a familiar face in this overwhelmingly fast paced city. We both headed in different directions, he going to Patpong to do some early shopping, and as for me, I just wanted to go home. We more catching up to do, so we decided we will go out for a couple of drinks and I'll show him some clubs to go to here in the Bangkok.

Here's a pic of me before I left my place to meet him.

I had to wear a light jacket since its raining a lot that night, and had to carry a bag since I have to wake up early the next morning for work, decided I'll sleep over Jeffrey's place since he lives a mere 5 minutes away from my office compared to 45 minute travel that I have to endure everyday commuting from my pad to the office.

And here's a pic of what I was wearing that morning to head to work.

More pictures to follow, he brought his digital camera with him (Tito) so we have some pics taken at the pubs.

As soon as i get a copy, I'll post it here.

Cancer Sticks

Everytime I feel bored here in the office, I end up making coffee and lighting up a ciggy.

Man, if I do this like for the next ten years, am not so sure if I'll even reach 35, pretty sure lung cancer will strike. ( uggh! ) too morbid -> sorry.

Anyway, it doesn't help that I am allowed to smoke inside the office, since the owner itself smokes, all the head of the department smokes, our clients smokes.
This is the first office I've seen that is Smoker-friendly. We got ashtrays littered everywhere. ( Don't know if this is really a good thing ).

Oh, all this talking bout ciggy makes me want to smoke now, be right back, ill just grab a coffee and ciggy again.

Yosi Break!!!

Fashion Diary

I had an interesting chat with Eileen a couple of days back. We were just discussing all the shit thats happening in our work and lovelife, basically, just trying to catch up a bit.

After an hour or so of wasting the company's resources, he he, we suddenly talked bout clothes, and then, she wanted to see what I've been wearing these days. So I decided to take snapshots of my daily life in Bangkok and let her take a peek at my wardrobe selection.

Eileen, you better give me advice on what and what not to wear.

Last night, I went out clubbing. So here's a pic before i left my pad.

I was wearing my fave Seven Jeans, always makes me look skinny, hahahaha, and my fave funky white Dsquared huge buckle belt. I paired it with this green tank top that i bought in Shenzhen a couple of months back.

It was raining last night, but hell, its always hot at the club, so i dont really care if i freeze to death outside ( although i must admit, in Bangkok, i never had to worry about freezing my ass, instead worry about frying myself in my own tub of lard.

Moving on, after last nights bout of crazy vodka redbull, I must have downed atleast ten tall glasses.... ( this morning, i have to pay for it by feeling like shit, good thing no headaches )

Here's a pic of me at my regular coffee place - smokin a fag and having my much needed caffeine to boost my day.

This time, I just put on the same jeans i was wearing last night, threw on a cap ( too lazy to fix my hair ), my trusty shades to cover my post nightout bugged out eye.

Here's a pic of me taken at Paradon's couch, went here to watch dvd. Haven't seen Dreamgirls yet. hehe

More pics later.....

F*CKIN BAD LUCK!

I have received a terrible news today....

Damn! I can't go to Italy this September, damn that Thai Immigration!

I was at the Italian Embassy yesterday to process my visa, everything went on smoothly, except for one more requirement that they want from me. They want me to have atleast 3 months remaining work visa before they can process my application. Currently, i have only 2 months left before it needs to be renewed.

In the new thai immigration law, they would not renew my visa unless its a week before it expires! So, basically, I cant have the required 3 months remaining visa before the scheduled flight to Italy. DAMN IT!

Well, atleast there is a next time, but hell! I have to wait until January
next year for the Italian Show, the only good thing though, atleast my first
trip will be for winter.

I'll be looking forward to the Hong Kong show then, at the end of September.

Could have been my first trip to Europe! arrggghhh...

Well, I guess thats how life is, you get some, and you lose some.

sigh sigh sigh sigh sigh sigh sigh

--> now I'd just bury myself with work and not think about the cancelled trip!

World Warrior

Being away from my family and friends for more than 2 years now, I have been missing everyone back home.

I've chosen a residence, a more humid domicile, to call home: Bangkok.

The first 6 months was the hardest part for me to endure. Everything for me is intoxicatingly new: food, clubs, and alas, my whole lifestyle has changed.

The luxury of my own car to drive at home, i miss that terribly. The protection of the house that i called home for 22 years has been suddenly taken away from me. The familiar smile and laughter of the people I love suddenly echoing in the four corners of my studio apartment, I haven't felt that alone in my life.

I miss the intimacy of family and friendship, the
undoubted sense of belonging to a group that knows me, accepts me does not judge me. I see myself sitting alone in my bed in front of my laptop, staring
blankly, trying to focus when in my head I see myself enjoying a great conversation with a group of friends sipping latte, never a dull moment.

My world has been turned upside-down, from a boy who has everything served in a silver plate, turned into a man who learned how to use a washer and surprise, surprise, learned how to hand-wash some of my clothes. I used to cringe at the idea of folding my own sheets and fixing my own bed, now, I have even mastered the art of cleaning toilet bowls!

Learning house work is the easiest part of it all, doing it consistently is another thing though. All these years, I have taken for granted the tireless service that our house maids has been doing for us. If doing my own chores already bores me to death, I now wonder how it feels if I have to do it for other people.

Much to the surprise of my family and friends when they visited, they saw the transformation of a partyphile Jerson they used to know to a workaholic, independent world warrior.

The more into the realm of self-discovery I venture, the less I seem to know. In due time, I'll be claiming my space in this world, and I'll be happy to say that it would be sooner than later.

Brief Introduction

TO MY FAMILY and FRIENDS, finally I have decided to write a blog to keep everyone updated regarding my adventures here in Asia's City of
